Jeep Update 3
The back seat has been installed. Corrected the tail light lenses, one was on upside down. I think I’ll go ahead and plan on replacing all the bulbs with LEDs. I like the look of the stock lenses, but I prefer the safety added by the brightness of the LEDs. Glued the glove box door back to the hinge plate with epoxy. So far that’s holding up, but I don’t see that being a high abuse item.
Still waiting on the O2 sensor from Update 2. I had two LEDs leftover from the dash light upgrade and they happen to be the same size as the front fender indicator lights. Unfortunately, in putting those in the flasher relay doesn’t work when the headlights are on. Not enough current draw to activate what is essentially a mechanical relay. I had to upgrade the flasher relay to an electronic one.
While I was fixing the flasher relay noticed there was a fuel leak on the tank side of the fuel filter. Went ahead and replaced the two rubber lines and the fuel filter. Between the CTS and fuel filter being fixed, the smell of gas has really disappeared. Down side of that is I can smell all the lubricant leaking from the transmission/transfer case now. I think the leak is from the rear output shaft on the TC, since there is a good slick being flung up onto the muffler. However, the whole trans/tc skid plate is covered in a film of lubricant. That will be next on the list.
